Which Pinnacles Desert Tours Take Children?
Pinnacles Desert tours with children: the youngest age each tour takes, child seats and infants, strollers, how long the day is, and what kids enjoy most.
Most Pinnacles Desert tours take children, but the youngest age runs from 1 to 8 depending on the tour. Lumineer Adventure Tours’ Pinnacles: In-Desert Sunset BBQ & Stargazing & Sandboarding, from US$163 a person (checked November 2026), takes children from age 1, provides child seats if you ask in advance, and gives them sandboarding in the afternoon and stars after dinner. It is a long day that ends late, which is the main thing to weigh with young children.
Free cancellation runs until 24 hours before.

Strollers stay at home on two of them: Lumineer Adventure Tours and Autopia Tours both list baby strollers among the things not allowed, and Lumineer Adventure Tours’ bus has no room for luggage or large bags.
Day or evening with children
The two kinds of tour suit different families. An evening tour gives children the dunes, the sunset and a telescope, but from a 1:15 PM or 1:30 PM start, Lumineer Adventure Tours’ 9.5-hour day runs until about 11 PM, and the drive back to Perth is late. One adult guest in April 2026 wished the tour had no children, finding them noisy after dark: worth knowing if yours tire easily.
A day tour has you home for dinner. Australian Pinnacle Tours' 4WD day had its availability calendar open from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM on 9 December 2026 and 13 January 2027, starts with koalas, wombats and kangaroos at Caversham Wildlife Park and includes a fish and chips lunch. A guest travelling with a friend and her baby in January 2026 found it good for families.
What children enjoy most

The day has two halves for children: the white Lancelin Sand Dunes, 77 km by road south of the Pinnacles past Wedge Island, and the pillars themselves, with the town of Cervantes 20 km by road to their north. Sandboarding comes up again and again. A guest on Lumineer Adventure Tours in August 2026 called it “a fun experience (especially for the kiddos)”, and a guest on Australian Pinnacle Tours’ day in March 2026 noted that the boarding is done sitting down. See the Lancelin dunes for what each tour does there.
Among the pillars, keep children on the sand between them. The Parks and Wildlife Service asks visitors not to climb, sit or stand on the pillars: they can be top heavy and unstable, and injuries have occurred. Bring hats, sunscreen and water for everyone; desert heat and what to bring has the list.
